WHY TĀMRA
Copper was always more than metal.
Long before copper became a design statement, it was part of everyday Indian life.
Known as Tāmra, copper found its place in vessels, lotas, kalashas, kitchens and rituals — cherished for its warmth, durability and enduring presence in Indian traditions. Ayurveda, too, recognised copper as a material of significance, including its traditional use in storing water.
Over time, its beauty became quietly functional.
WARA brings it back into the spotlight - through design.
An ancient material. A new expression.
We took the unmistakable warmth of copper and brought it into the modern home.
Hand-hammered by artisans, TĀMRA celebrates the marks, texture and glow of the material, pairing them with fragrance and candlelight to create an object of contemporary ritual.
A new way of living with an old material.
And when the flame is gone, the copper remains.
Because we believe heritage belongs in the spaces we live in.
It should live with you.

When the Candle Is Finished
Don’t throw it away.
Clean the vessel and give it another life. Use it to hold jewellery, keepsakes, flowers or simply let it become part of your home.
A candle today. A keepsake tomorrow.
- ITrim the wick to 6mm before every burn to prevent soot and mushrooming.
- IIAllow the wax to melt to the edges on first use — this prevents tunnelling.
- IIIBurn for no more than 4 hours at a stretch. Let the candle cool fully before relighting.
- IVKeep away from drafts, direct sunlight, and children. Never leave unattended.
- VStop use when 1cm of wax remains. The vessel is yours to keep — rinse with warm water and reuse.

We don't make thousands at a time. Every batch is deliberate — hand-poured, inspected, wrapped. When it sells out, it's gone. Because quality has a limit that volume doesn't respect.

Wara vessels are designed as permanent objects. When the fragrance is spent, clean the vessel — use it as a planter, a holder, a keepsake. You didn't buy a product. You acquired something that lasts.
