Smitha keeps the studio honest — operations, quality and the standards that decide whether a gift is good enough to leave the building. If Sudeep is the story, Smitha is the reason it arrives intact, on time, and exactly as promised.
Wara is a modern Indian gifting brand, based in Bengaluru, built on a single, slightly stubborn idea: the best gifts aren't things at all. They're the memories they leave behind. We create handcrafted, memory-inspired gifts for the relationships, traditions and moments worth remembering — from corporate gifting and wedding favours to curated boxes, home fragrance and candles.
Wara is a modern Indian gifting brand. We create handcrafted, memory-inspired gifts for the occasions that actually matter — a new hire's first day, a thank-you that needs to land, a wedding, a Diwali, a quiet reminder that someone matters to you.
Everything we make — corporate gifts, wedding favours, curated boxes, home fragrance, candles — exists to serve that one idea. Not products for their own sake, but proof that a gift can hold a memory. Each is made by hand to be remembered long after the occasion it marked has ended.
Because giving someone an object is easy. Giving them a memory takes a little more care.
Wara comes from the Sanskrit वर — vara — meaning a boon, a blessing, a gift worth giving. We kept the meaning and softened the letter, because what mattered was never the word.
A true gift isn't measured by what it costs. It's measured by how long it's remembered. Every Wara piece is made to sit on the right side of that line.
Generic hampers. Mass-produced everything. Presents chosen out of obligation, opened out of politeness, and forgotten by Monday.
We thought the people you are trying to thank, celebrate or remember deserved better than a box of the same thing everyone else received. So we built one. That became Wara.
Six ways we help people mark a moment — each one handcrafted, considered, and made to be kept.
Thoughtful gifts that make a company feel like it noticed. For onboarding, clients, festivals and the people who keep the lights on.
iiKeepsakes your guests actually take home, instead of leaving on the table. Personalised, in your colours, at your scale.
iiiCurated gift boxes and hampers, composed not assembled, for every occasion that deserves more than a card.
ivRoom sprays, wax sachets and quiet scents that make a space smell like somewhere you want to stay.
vBeeswax candles built around Indian memories — filter coffee at first light, rain on bare earth, jasmine still warm.
viConsidered gifts for Diwali, Christmas, the new year and every celebration India refuses to do by halves.
It should tell a story, not just fill a box.
It should be made by hand, in small batches.
It should be made by hand, from honest materials, never shortcuts.
It should feel personal enough to keep, not regift.
It should respect the hands that make it and the place it's made.
And it should be remembered, long after it's unwrapped.
Every Wara gift begins in our Bengaluru studio — designed, handcrafted, finished and packed by hand, one small batch at a time. We chose craft over scale, and care over speed, because it shows in the only place that counts: the moment someone opens it.
A simple frustration with forgettable gifting became a question worth answering: will someone remember this years from now?
Handcrafted, and built around Indian memories. Made, remade, and refined until each one told the right story.
Friends, family and early customers who bought the idea before the brand. They are still the reason it works.
Businesses asked us to make their gifting mean something. We built hampers, favours and bulk gifting that people actually kept.
Wedding favours, festive collections and curated boxes — gifting for the occasions India refuses to do quietly.
Trusted by hotels, brands and people who notice the details — with the names to prove it. And we are only getting started.

Before Wara, Sudeep spent years as a competitive badminton player and coach, then in the corporate world. Sport taught him discipline and the value of a moment built to last. The corporate years taught him how forgettable most gifting had become. Wara is his answer to both — a modern Indian gifting brand where every gift is built to carry a memory, and nothing is given by halves.
Sudeep didn't set out to build a gifting brand. He spent his early years on a badminton court — first competing, then coaching young athletes through the unglamorous work of showing up, again and again, for a single moment meant to last. Sport teaches you that the moments people remember are rarely the loud ones.
The corporate years that followed taught him the opposite lesson by accident. He watched companies spend real money on gifts no one remembered — generic, impersonal, forgotten by the time they reached a desk drawer. Gifting, of all things, had quietly lost the one quality that made it matter: meaning.
Wara is the correction. A modern Indian gifting brand built on a simple conviction — that the best gifts aren't things, but memories made physical, tied to a person, an occasion, a feeling. That belief now shapes everything the studio makes, and everyone it makes it with.
We're not really selling gifts. We're selling the moment you remember them by.— Sudeep Suresh, co-founder
